can i really get an ls6 for less than 8 thousand bucks?? the same motor for the zo6's???

i think they can be had for 5000... but dont expect the same performance of a Z06 becuase you will not have the transmission and u will still be heavier.. you can convert ur car into a Z06 its not that expensive compared to the price you pay to get a Z06 from the showroom but you can make ur car faster than a Z06 with the same money

thing is, i dont have money for a z06 or just a regular corvette. im 18, and got a camaro. i want it fast but dont want to waste money on my v6. i was thinking i may be able to scrounge up 10 grand if i work on it, and my friend can hook me up with free twin turbos. (hopefully)

Put a used blower on and you will be plenty fast.

Hope your friend has the knowledge to plumb up a TT system on an Fbody. There arent all that many turbo F-cars running around, and im sure some of the designers kicked themsef throughout the build once they started.

Adding a centrifugal unit like Vortech or Procharger will be easier, and you can make as much power. And you will be plenty fast with that

but there is so many blowers out there. what exactly is a blower?? what kind are there, and where do they install on???

my friend has already put TT's on a z06 before with no problem. thing is he custom makes them, ran great too.

A blower to most people is a supercharger. Some people will argue that its only a blower if its a Roots style (like the Magnacharger setup), but most people whether its an Eaton, Weiand, Vortech, Kenne Bell or what will call it a blower.

And blowers break down into a few categories. Twin Screw (Whipple) Roots (Weiand - like drag cars have) and Centrifugal (Vortech, ATI, Paxton). Twins and Roots look similar and are usually mounted above the stock intake, but w/ some of them they have their own lower intake built into the bottom of the blower so it replaces the stock unit. Centifugals look like turbo's (except are driven by a belt) and are usually mounted to the side of the engine, along the belt drive.

And no disrespect to your friend. He may be a damn fine mechanic, but i'd rather go to someone who's got a proven system that works vs trusting a friend w/ something like this. I know Charged Air Systems has a TT setup for the Fbody, but i cant find a webpage or anything w/ them, so i cant quote prices or accessories. Maybe some other members can help out on this
