Gatorback Belt Being Thrown I have a 97 stock engine Vette that has 78000+ miles on it. Last month I replaced the belts since the old ones had cracks and I did not know their age, got the car in October. Since then the main belt has been thrown off twice. The first time was after a 40 mile drive, sitting for a couple of hours then starting. The second time was last week at the track. It threw it sometime durring the first pass, made four more and the belt stayed. Everything looks to be running smooth and true on the belts and pulleys. Any sugestions on what to start checking? Thanks.
