Default Hello, Looking into buying a corvette

I'm sure this has been kicked around a lot here but I am in the market for a corvette. I tried looking on my own as much as possible but I'm not finding answers I need. I'm very active on the Firebird forum but corvettes not so much. I'm kind of torn between going with a pre 2010 Z06 (low miles) my budget tops out at 45k for a car and I'm kind of eyeballing a newer style corvette as well. My question(s) are:

1. Anything to look for/avoid on LS7 Z06?
2. Where to find opinions on fair prices?
3. future appreciation or depreciation of a Z06?

any help is appreciated!

thanks!

Click on the C6 in this section and you will be taken to the Corvette Forum. You will get plenty of help and opinions there. $45k will get you one heck of a ride so personally I would go with a one owner with ultra low miles. I just bought my C6 in December from a collector. Never titled and just 5,000 miles. Some 'like new' examples pop up every so often. That's what I like anyway.
Also, if interested at all, I have seen 'leftover' new C7 Corvettes (zero miles) being offered in the high 40's. They are base models but it sure can be tempting. Good luck with your search and decisions.

C6 Z06 all had potential valve issues. You would need to have the valves and guides redone. Or find a car that has had them done already

after owning a 07 c6z for 2 years now, i would go another route if i had your money

1--low mile ls3 grand sport , add exhaust blower meth....make great power

2--hold out and get a zr1---there are some out there in the 50s, maybe a hard to find high mileage one in the 45k range but who knows

i bought a modded c6z and have had nothing but an up hill battle with it.....and its still being sorted out

I agree modded z06's I'm staying away from. wouldn't mind a C7 I have been eyeballing those but we'll have to see what come around. going z06 route I think 2008 and up you're ok with the heads? maybe I'm wrong. Def. waiting for the right deal and doing a lot of homework.

Depends on what you want to do with the car, if you just want a daily driver. You can get into a C7 with $45K.

Wouldn't be daily driving, I have an Audi S5 for that
