Default FLP Headers

I am about to buy some used ones for cheap. I really wanted the LGs but at this price, its hard to pass up. Anyone have FLPs? Any issues? Anyone know what they weigh compared to the LGs? What gains can I expect with basically a stock car? Mods in sig.

My FLP's leaked from the day the came out of the box due to a bad weld. They recalled a bunch of sets about 6 months later but I didnt realize my pinhole leak was the same problem. I removed them and fixed it myself.

I have no idea how much they weigh, probably about the same.

I'd be interested to know how much you're getting them for. I have been thinking about selling my FLP's and stepping up to LG headers.

I've had FLP headers for about a year now. The good news is they have held up and I love the sound. The bad news is I've had constant problems with the plug wire overheating because the wire sits right next to the pipe. It's the plug on drivers side next to firewall. Ive got to check it from time to time and it's a pain in the ***. They seem to last about a month or so. My latest fix is to try a ceramic wire to see if that will keep it from splitting. To be honest I'm just about ready to throw in the towel and get kooks. The only reason why I havent alredy is because they sound so good. Maybe they have changed them by now, maybe call them. Good luck.

Already used them and they did not fix the problem.Don't know if all sets had this problem, but Brent's just sucks *** because he needs to change the plug almost weekly The headers did work alright until we added a H/C to his car which give a higher exhaust temp.

I've had FLP's on the car for about 18,000 miles..

I used heat soxs from the get go and have never had a problem.

TOns of corvette owners running FLP's without a problem and that includes "Black Magic" over at www.z06vette.com with a supercharger on top of his FRC..

Same with FCalmes whose got FLP's and heads and cam..

No problem there either.

I say go for it.

I've had FLP headers on my '02 Z06 and my '03 Z06. They fit really nice , look good and sound awesome. The really nice thing about the FLP set-up is how easy it is to switch between off-road pipes and cats. It takes longer to jack my car up than it does to actually change the exhaust. I've seen 20-25 rwhp gains (w/off-road pipes) and I've heard of as much as 35 rwhp gains in regular C5's , due to the difference in factory exhaust systems. As for the #7 spark plug wire , it's nothing to worry about. I haven't heard too many people say anything about it being a problem. The wire looked very close on both of my cars so I just used a zip-tie around the wire and the coil backet. For my money , there isn't a better system out there.

Well the headers have been on the car now for little over a week. No spark plug problems yet. With the ZO6 mufflers, the car is very quiet when not on it and very exotic when on it. I cant wait to get to the track now...

I had my headers toast the #7 wire, but I just took off the stock boot protectors and threw them on my aftermarket wires. No problems after that. The headers make good power and are pretty easy to work with.
