Are headers worth it?

Are headers worth it? I alreaddy have B&B tri-flow cat back & an x-pipe cat delete. I am considering long tubes, but the stock manifolds look good enough. Any word on how much improvement I'd get?

LGM and Kooks are probably two most popular on the market right now and you can expect about 20rwhp from either ... some folks have reported more but none less (?)...after putting on headers and since you already removed cats very good idea to get LS1-edit tune, you can add considerable timing when cats removed...good tune would probably add an additional 10 to 15 rwhp...so tune and headers could give you 30-35rwhp.

Made a difference from off idle to redline, and I notice that I don't have to barely touch the throttle now when starting from a standstill. I don't care if I only got 10 hp, the way the thing feels all around made it worth it. I got the SLP's but a lot of people bitch about them for some reason.

I gained 80 ft lbs of torque at 3,000 rpms! And 50 ft lbs at 3500 rpms and a constant 20+ from 4,000 rpms up to redline! That was with the Kooks headers and 3" x-pipe w/ high flow cats. Peak gains are deceiving, you have to look at the area under the curve. It flattened my torque curve out, 80 ft lbs is a big difference! I have not had tuning yet because I will wait until I do a cam and I'll need it anyway then.

My Kooks gave 20hp over the stock system.You will probly gain less since you already deleted the cats.I like the Kooks and LG's .Have had serious problems with FLP's burning spark plug wires.They might have fixed that by now.

Last year my Y2K FRC M6 ran a 13.3 @ 110 MPH in the 1/4 with cool air and the following mods:
-- Donaldson Blackwing
-- Magnaflow X-Pipe
-- LS6 Intake Manifold
-- Flowmaster Mufflers
New times with the same Run-Flat tires and *no* tuning with the addition of Dynatech headers, Dynatech X-Pipe, and hi-flow cats: 12.8 @ 114 MPH.
