Modded LS1 in a C6
Just wondering what everyone thinks. I have a great deal on a 2006 C6. I totaled my 2002 Firehawk.the ls1 Engine in it only has 49,500ish mile and about 8,000 miles on it since the top half of engine upgrade/rebuild. It has been modded with a 228/232 110 lsa cam, atomic airforce intake. Arp studs/bolts chromoly push rods, ches trunion upgrade atomic airforce intake. Stage 2.5 PrC ls6 heads. It put down 450 HP at the wheels of my firebird. The C6 is bone stock. Should i pull my supped up 5.7 and drop it in the vette?

Key question is what mechanical condition is the 2006 C6 in especially engine, transmission & rear end. If all is good in the 06 C6, I'd enjoy the C6 as is for at least three to six months, making sure the car is fully sorted out and reliable.
I'd feel the out the market during that time and see what I could sell that mod'd LS1 for with the intention to use the funds for a new supercharger for the C6.
Forced Induction aka Superchargers & Turbo's are just sexier than heads & cam packages. They are also better suited to the comfort grand touring aspect of a C6 in my opinion unless it's a C6 Z06.
Swapping an LS1 into a LS2 C6 would damage (destroy) the car's value in the eyes of many Corvette enthusiasts. A mod'd LS1 with heads, cam & msd would also decrease value even more so since it's a mod'd engine and they are viewed as less reliable. Using a bolt on supercharger would kept the car more original and allow for it to be more easily put back to stock at a later time if one decided to sell the car eventually without going into the engine's internals.
Speaking as a mod'd vette owner based on experiences with the typical Corvette owner over the last 38 years.

Everything Black Bird says is true and I agree.
That being said, if you want to do the swap, you'll have to swap your crank for a 58 tooth (or have the reluctors swapped) unless somehow the Vette you have came with a 24 tooth reluctor. You'll basically be doing a Gen 3 to 4 swap in reverse. So wiring changes for cam sensor location as well as the knock sensors, throttle, etc etc.

I didnt realize id have to swap the crank. I know a big jump happened shen they went to ls3. That may change things, alot of the parts transfer over to the ls2 so maybe ill think about doing that instead. Decisions, decisions . The vette has 35,000 original miiles so all seems to be in order but ya, definitely wont know for sure until regularly driving takes place.
