Stock Runflats suck?
I did, however, manage to pull of a 1.80 60ft time at the track with them the other day.

Recall that I also pulled several 1.51s on 275/40/17 Nittos in full street trim.

I pulled 1.91 60fts in my 95TA on BFG Comp TAs with a 2.73/A4 combo. My nearly stock 95 Formula pulled 1.94 60fts with a 3.23/A4 combo and F1 GS D3s. I cut 1.59 60fts in my Mustang with 10" slicks, but with a super stiff suspension.
I tried a couple of full throttle launches today with my car and it seems to come out of the hole without too much spin so I think on a good track it should have no problem cutting 2.0s and perhaps a few low 1.9s when they lay down a nice bunch of VHT.

Speaking of tire wear, some people get 8K out of the tires and others get 35K with similar driving styles. Go figure.
I caught the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S runflats on sale through Tirerack.com and bought a set of those, replacing the stock GY runflats on my 04 coupe with only about 3K miles on the GYs. The Michelin's have a much better all-season performance rating with a huge reduction in road noise. Plus, I still have the security of run flats.
BTW, there are several other alternatives tires so don't take our word on any of them.

After 15K miles (on my first C5 which was an M6) the rears were completely toast, wires hanging out all the way around. I have about 6K on my '04 and the rears are still looking like new. From the looks of them I'd say they'll make 25K without trouble. Maybe it being an A4 has something to do with it.
