It looks cool. But you'd double the number of filters to replace/clean. That may not be a big deal though, I'm just saying.

This CAI set-up is very popular.

However, I have the BPP Vortex Rammer CAI in black, rather than clear.

I just picked up a Halltech Stinger on GP from the Corvette Garage. Somehow I think it would do better. But maybe not.

read this first before buying:
http://www.crossedflags.com/nuke/htm...d19d7427da8aac

I was going to buy this setup myself, but changed my mind. Although they "look" cool; I'm seeking performance gain - not cosmetic improvement.

I have read that where the 2 intake pipes meet there is turbulence created and a resultant decrease in performance.

I have heard this also but I don't believe it.I have the RM Twin Flow system on my 02 auto trans vert. I have run 112.88 mph at the strip with just this mod and a Z06 exhaust and a 3.73 gear.I must be making some power to turn this kind of speed and I have LOTS of 112.xx runs to back it up.I have absolutly no problems with the system and love the way it performs.I do have the Z06 screens and this gives me cold air. I think this is a must if you want to get the most out of the system.

I have a ton of 118mph runs on a bone stock 145k vette. Yours should be running a little better. Believe it or not, it causes turbulance.

Most stock auto vettes(C5's) are running 106/107 mph at the strips I go to.I am more than happy with my results.

Anything is better than the stock filter, Blackwing is a popular choice and they
can be found on the forums pretty reasonalbe.

I don't agree with the whole turbulence theory. The air looks like it would be mixing far enough down stream not to cause a problem. Then there's the screen built into the maf sensor that straightens out the air to get a good reading. As long as you keep your maf sensor stock, I don't see how it could be a problem. Granted, it's not the best design. But, I did notice a difference when I added it to my '04...and so did the S281 Supercharged Saleen I raced the other weekend when I realed his a$$ in.

but each would only be flowing half as much air so you'd replace/clean them half as often. moot point tho, there are better intake systems i believe...

now what about $$ to hp ratio, these ones are $66, the blackwings I found were in the 239-249 range, is there anyplace to get them cheaper than that?

Hey Mike Mercury,

Thanks for the cross reference to Crossedflags website in regard to the dual cone filters. The Crossedflags folks are a nice bunch.

i had Twin Flow on 98 coupe, good looking, but when i got my 01 coupe and after base dyno the twin added 5rwhp above base...I changed to vortex ram air system and picked-up 10rwhp....The Twin Flow is easily the best looking and does add some hp but cannot match several of the other choices for hp increase.

I learned a long time ago that you get what you pay for. They may look ok, but where are the performance numbers? There are a few good air-intake systems out there, that are proven. It doesn't cost that much more to go all the way. Look around and ask questions before you spend your money. I bought a Halltech Stinger for my vette and I am more than satisified. Good luck with your choice.
