Cutting stock shifter
Also, I lowered my car using the stock pogos but it didn't seem to lower it as much as I thought it would. I'm sitting about 27 1/2" in the front and 28 1/8th in the rear. It is a Z51 car, does that make it sit higher than normal? I read on frc site the car after lowering should be around 26 7/8" in front and 27 7/8" in the rear.
i have driven the car since making adjustments on the suspension. any other z51 owners have their cars lowered with stock pogos that can give me heights?
TIA

I lowered mine 3 1/2" front 4" rear.
Its 25" to the top of the front fender lip,and 26 for the rear fender lip.
If you go this low,you must change the rea bolts to longer ones (grade 8 of coarse),and i remover the front bolt all together, and also trimmed the rubber from the inner spring brackets. The front will require a bump steer kit/longer tie rod ends.Minor stuff. My stock shocks are toast thou because there always compressed.Iv'e never had them botom out that i'm aware of,the cars handles like a go-cart,it's choppy on unever or bumpy roads.I'm going to coil overs after my cam swap,i want to go a little lower, but the coil over i can adjust to get a decent ride feel and still corner like a go-cart.Mt 1/4 mile launches got a little better with the back dropped 4" believe it or not..

as for the shifter, i poped the shift pattern piece of plastic out and had a piece of steel holding the **** on. i couldn't get it to pry off so i have yet to cut the stick. not sure if the piece even comes off. i have worked on many other gm's and never had such a problem getting the shifter **** off.
