Default New best with 395 stroker

I went to the track this weekend with my new 17" drag radials and got my new best but was still disapointed so I want to post my numbers to see what you think.
1.85 60'
7.76 1/8 et
95.91 1/8 mph
11.90 1/4 et
118.4 1/4 mph

The corrected air that night was about 3600'.
I was hoping for mid 11s at closer to 120 trap speeds but I guess thats all shes got.

not sure of corrected air impact but for rwhp in sig low 11s seems resonable.

that does seem a little low. i have the same stroker pkg on my t/a with a 240/244 comp cam. i would think that you should be around 11.4 or lower with that much power.

3600' makes quite a difference.......quite possibly .5 sec worth. The dude in Beaumont is practically below sea level. There are corrections for track times. I know that is kinda "ricey" but it may make you fell a little better. Your Hp numbers I would assume are corrected and your track times aren't.

Which brand of drag radials are you using?

I found a web site with the correction factors. I figured them at 3500' as follows,
11.39 @ 123.42
I was using Nittos and they were spinning all through 1st.

There ya have it. Don't ever underestimate the effect of density altitude. I learned it in the flyin' business(ironically I flew airplanes out of Midland for a year) before I ever got interested in cars. 3600 feet does make quite a difference. The standard lapse rate for pressure is 1 inch per 1000 feet(the ambient/actual lapse rate will differ). So you are lacking 3.6 inches of pressure going into your engine.....not insignificant. High air temps further compound the problem. Anyway, enjoy the fruits of your labor and have fun with that thing.

I am having it retuned this week as well as looking into nitrous, I look forward to some cool weather runs.
