Vortech+FLP+Z06=601.2 rwhp!
I just got back from Finishline Performance and I am VERY pleased! My '03 Z06 has most of the bolt-ons plus Comp 918 valve springs , titanium retainers and roller rockers. I also have an ATI steel damper (heavier than stock), Ram clutch w/ a billet steel flywheel (heavier than stock), 3.90 gear and 19" rear wheels and tires. All of these mods should cause a "loss" at the rear wheels. I dynoed the car a couple of weeks ago and it made 383.5 rwhp and 365.9 rwtq. I just installed my Vortech supercharger , BeCool radiator and had it custom tuned by Dan at FLP. Dan also designed and installed a custom fuel system on my car because I had the FFS fuel system and I have to say it works perfectly with this supercharger. I also want to point out that I put a 30 tooth pulley on the supercharger (this is the stock pulley for the regular C5 kit). After Dan went to work with LS Edit the final numbers were 601.2 RWHP and 488.7 rwtq! The A/F ratio never went above 11.7 and the timing is pretty conservative too. We made several pulls and never saw even a hint of knock retard. We could have been more aggressive with the tune and squeezed a little more power out of it , but I plan on driving the car on a regular basis and I would rather be on the safe side. I want to thank Dan and Chuck at FLP for doing a great job on my car. Dan gave me a fuel system that looks and performs as good as anything I've ever used or seen , and gave me a tune that not only makes plenty of power without getting near the "ragged edge" , but also improves driveability. Chuck did a great job on my trans , He doesn't only do automatic transmissions.
Two things I would like to point out;
1) The 30 tooth pulley is supposed to make 7.5 - 8 pounds of boost depending on how high I spin the motor. My boost gauge was showing just over 10 pounds!!! We'll see how long it lasts even with a "safe" tune.
2) I hope to get to the track this weekend (weather permitting) to see what it will run. I have my doubts about getting any traction even with my E.T. Streets but hopefully I'll be able to get at least one decent run in. By the way , last time out I ran 11.25 @ 123.7 and that was with only 383 rwhp.
