If you're offering it to me...thank you very much!

I'm actually looking for a plain ole set of headers and building a custom X-pipe system. I can't believe TPIS and the like charge so much for the same type of longtube found on most cars like the F-body. I was just venting/complaining/sharing on how bad it is that these vendors can take advantage of the vette consumer...

It does make sense though that most of the vette owners (if they mod at all) probably buy a complete system and expect it to have a premium price tag. (funny too cuz there's always a better, more expensive car out there...)

Watch out on cutout placement. Too much heat on the rear spring can cause premature failure.

One thing to consider about the "corvette tax" is that production numbers for Vettes is far less then then for the F-Bods.... That means that the cost of R&D is spread across less units. Not trying to justify the 1800 my LG's with cats cost.. But it is part of the fact of life. Part of why the longer the C5 has been out, prices have dropped some for aftermarket parts over what they were a few years ago.

No they are not the same or even remotely similar to the TPIS which are a mid-length 4-1 design. The QTP's are one of three Tri-Y header designs for the C5. Bellanger, Bassani and QTP are all Tri-Y, which are more complicated to fabricate but typically yield better low end torque without sacrificing upper end peak HP. Of these three, only the QTP's are stainless steel. Check out the article below for more information on this design:

Let me try to explain the difference in cost. first is volume, we sell a lot less c5 than
f-car. second the more bends and the more welds on a header drive up the cost. Our C5 header also features our power h-pipe which lets each cylinder see both cats. Our 3 inch collector that merges down to 2 3/4 inch and then back to 3 inch ensures tremendous velocity. A standard 3 inch collector is about $10.00 each. Our C5 is about $35.00 each plus the cost of making the h-pipe..

As for performance all of our headers have been tested by many of the leading tuners and we are always plus or minus of everybodys other header. We normally have a higher average power number.

We do not copy other manufactuers. in fact we were the first on the market with a C5 header. And have been copied by several others poorly. also firstwith C6 and the CTS_V header.

We always stand behind our products. We currently do all of our ceramic coating in house after some issues with JETHOT.

TPiS, Two questions. Does your system attach easily to the factory mid section? Are you running any year end specials on the Headers for a 99 Y-body, coated? I am in the market.

One more, can/should the factory mid section be used effectively?

We do from time to time have what we call scratch and dent. currently we have four sets. These are cosmetic and will not effect performance.

I will discount these $75.00

Our system requires cutting and welding, It takes us about 45 min for the procedure.

The factory mid system is ok for 383 and 350 cid anything bigger we use our mid system.

If you are interested please call so that we can discuss the scratch's.

The damage is normally not visable when installed
