A4 to T56?
speak snake eater. i need more info on this. what all did you change out? pm me if necessary. my thinking is obviously a whole new drivetrain. there should be a trans pigtail that has to be changed for the wiring correct? thats what im the most unsure about. the comp well just delete the auto trans stuff. then new clutch pdeal and hydraulics. what about the console? give me all your info if you dont mind. thanks
You have to change the trans, bellhousing, torque tube, shifter rod, shifter box, clutch, flywheel, clutch master, clutch pedal, brake pedal, YOU ONLY HAVE TO CHANGE THE PEDAL NOT THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY! Learned that the hard way. Trans wiring harness, and do some minor wiring, i.e. skip shift, reverse lockout, cruise, and the "vats" for the ignition. All very simple to do. The whole process took me and my father 16 hours at his shop on one weekend. It is basically a take out and bolt in operation. You have to cut a hole in the firewall but, the insulation is already perferated from the factory where the hole should be. You will need to have your pcm flashed with a manual setup or your car will not run right. Someone asked me one time what was wrong with theirs saying it was running like crap. Turns out he hadn't had it flashed yet. I would do it again in a second if I still had an auto Vette. Best thing I did to my car. In fact I am getting a Camaro today and it is an auto.....
If you need I can probably get you all the wiring diagrams you need for the wiring from our program at the shop. I just need to know the year.

thanks andy thats what i was thinking. i was worried about the electronics more than anything else. but i felt positive that the trans had a pigtail that could be switched out. ill let you know if i need any more info.

Yes, I got the tranny on ebay for $450 from Gene Kar Shop. Gene is very well known and an extremely awesome guy to deal with. He is a supporter of corvette forum. I got all the other parts from him after that. He is probably the best "vendor" I've ever seen. He gave away a complete interior to a vette one year. Andy
