Procharger for a 2000 vette hello, when i am out of school and am a city planner, i am planning to buy a used vette. I would say arouund a 2000 or so, now what is the best thing to do to it? Procharger? and what would it bump the power to running more than your usual 7 lbs of boost, it would be intercooled also. Any idea on the cost of the system, and can the internals take 12 lbs or so?Also what are charged vettes running in the 1/4 these days.

negative on the 12psi. intercooled i wouldnt go over 7 maybe 8 max on a procharger type setup. power wise expect mid 400s at the wheels through a manual. a little less with the auto. times? well thats the hard part. it takes more than power to run a good time. if you get the suspension set up and get some sticky tires and your capable of driving. id think mid 11s are possible. the problem with a centrifagul charger like the vortec and procharger is they take time and rpm to build the power. its not really a problem either. the power is very seemless and smooth. it pulls like a Z06 to me, all up top, but for instance a magnuson will pin you in the seat from the time you get it floored til you lift. all the power it can make is there as soon as you get it floored. so its a toss up, but a procharged vette isnt a bad thing.
I run 12lbs on my Vette.You will need some parts to go with it like valve springs,injector's,fuel pump,clutch.8psi is safe,12lbs doesn't last forever.Times are in the sig.
