Default Help me decide

Hey guys, I'm at a decision point I need to make. Should I keep my '02 Z06 and Twin Turbo it, or buy an '06 Z06? Having a TT Z06 is my dream, however the new Z06 is straight up badass in my opinion!! For the layout of $$ for an '06, I could turbo my '02, add Brembos, build rear end, etc. However, having 500 hp in a factory warrantied package is extremely enticing. Tell me your opinion!! Which would be the better performance car?

I'd go with the new Z06. There's nothing like the new factory tecnology. Or at least that's what I'm probably going to do. The TT setup is a nice set-up. Check this one out. http://www.garyjavo.com/

I just don't know, the more I think about it, I realize that I'll just modify the new Z06 if I go that way, so I may as well keep my C5 Z06 and really make my dream out of it.

Why not do both? Build your current car and have fun. The turbo kits are tried and true and available. It's a known quantity. Down the road, when the new Z is out and folks are playing with it, you'll have a better idea if it is closer to your "ideal" or not. Additionally, you'll have the benefit of having built a fast car, as well as the benefit of the extra seat-time in a fast car. The only thing I regret about my Z is that I waited so long to own one. It would be really nice to have that extra 3 years of experience driving it. JMO...

Regardless, it's a fun decision to have.

I would go new if you have the coin but that is me.

That car is going to be a supercar right off the showroom floor. Wait till headers, more agressive cams are out for it. It will be SICK

I have a 99 and have ordered a HP-kit for it. But i live in Norway with skyhigh taxes(we pay more in taxes to the state than we pay for the car itself).
But if i were living in USA i would rather bought a C6. After all when the years go by and the money has piled up again, you can turbocharge the C6 as well.

I would buy the new z06 and be more rare to the streets. Plus with the new technology I am sure there will be a TT kit for in a year or so.

Depends on your wallet. IMO, even w/ the 06 Z06 being faster, more powerful from the factory does that warrent you getting in **** financially and not being able to mod the car? The C5 Z06 you have may not have the ultimate race car potential as the C6 version, are you ever going to use it? W/ the TT kit you can still have good driveability, on top of an awesome handling package and you may not be in as much red as w/ the C6 version.

Yeah, the C6 version is going to have loads of potential, and by the years end (of its release) it should have tons of performance parts...I dont think in most people's case it means they should get over their head and sell their car just to have a more rare, higher hp car. Keep the C5, mod it up and enjoy (possibly) slappin C6 Zs around. lol

I say put the turbo kit on your current car. Give GM at least a year to work the bugs out of the new Z06.

I would twin turbo the one you have. For the $75K price of the new one you could put 1/2 of that into yours and make it a totally sick car.
