i haven't seen any times for C6s that haven't been on street tires but everything looks like the C5 Z06 is going to edge it out.

The C6 guys/gals better recognize there bone stock rides ain't diddly compared to modified C5 Z06, or even a modified C5 Coupe.

My 2001 C5 Coupe, A4(3.42) w/Stock Heads has 405RWHP and that is over well over 500bhp considering parasitic loss% with a C5, A4. Therefore, I'm sure I'll surprise a few stock C6 Z06 owners out on the road.
Seriously though, I'm looking forward to the C6 Z06. I like the idea of 500bhp right out of the factory and looks much better than the C6, too... IMHO.
I see you/ve ordered a C6 Z06, correct? However, I thought they were going to be available in 2006, rather than not until 2007? I bet your really excited. That C6 Z06 will have a ton of mod potential.

And I wasn't talking stock. I was talking modified. I mean, seriously, why would you compare a stock car to a modified one, anyway? If a 450hp base C5 can be modded to 500HP, it wouldn't take much to modify the 400HP base LS2 C6 to over 500HP. And you're right about the 500BHP C6 Z06. That one won't need much modification to play with even modified C5's.

Your missing my point, or my line of thinking. IMHO, the C6 is fugly. On the otherhand, the suttle changes made to the exterior styling of the C6 Z06 make it way more appealing. Some folks like the Euro flavored C6, which is fine by me. I've read on some C6 Forums how they brag on the superiority of there's over a C5, which is not fine by me. The performance enhancements done at the GM factory on the C6 can easily be done on the C5, and still have a better looking appearance. Again, just my .02
Of course, an equally modded C5 & C6, the C6 has the edge. Yet, the C6 still has that the fugly front end. So, I'd rather have a C5 Coupe with well thought out performance mods. Nevertheless, the C6 Z06 potential is awesome. Yet, like you mentioned the C6 Z06 will cost at, or above $70K, which is almost half of what I paid for my used 2001 C5 Coupe with only 8700 miles back in 12/23/02.
I wonder if it will be feasible to drop an LS7 motor into a C5, or C5 Z06?

Yeah, I much prefer the look of my C5 Z over the standard C6. But I really like the enhancements on the C6 Z06. Not sure it's worth an extra $30K over what I paid for the C5, though. We'll see.
