procharger or heads and cam?
If you want to low ET's get a H/C package, as you'll never be able to get the SC power to the ground as easily. Also with the H/C, there is no need to worry about belts slipping, failing or coming off.
Everyone will have a different opinion on this though....
I think it is possible to reach high 400's rwhp, approaching 500 without a power procharger/magnacharger.
I'm sitting at 451rwhp (see mods in sig), without the heads ever being off the motor. I think probably with a set of reworked/new heads (AFR205's or 225's), shaved pistons (for valve clearance), I should certainly be north of 475rwhp, and then thinking about a bigger set of injectors, bigger intake and throttle body, should be bumping 500.
BY the time you have done all that you probably have spend more dollars than a quick procharger or magnacharger install.
In my case, at an idle, you can certainly tell there is one big a$$ cam under the hood, whereas the procharger and magnacharger are more stealthy at an idle (other than the magnacharger requiring a raised hood), and probably a little more daily driver friendly.
My $0.02 worth anyway.

Most Z06's hit over 540-550 RWHP with just the kit and headers. The H/C car I had was mean and even with the torque from the convertor it still felt nothing like my F/I car does now. And streetability is nice. And I still get close to 30 MPG on teh highway
If you are just alittle curious about going F/I just troll over to the www.corvetteforum.com and look in the F/I section of the C5 part. Just read and search a bit. You wil save money on a H./C and get better track times. But I have no intentions of going to the track to race anymore. I will go once my tune is done. And jsut a thought, I have 20,000 miles on my blower setup with completely stock top and bottom end. The only updates I did when I installed my car are in my sig. Oh and I am at 8-10 lbs of boost as well.Damon
