The block is different as well. I have heard that 01+ LS1's receive the LS6 block, however.
different injectors, different PCM programming.
The biggest bennefit you have if rebuilding or modding a LS6 motor over a LS1 motor is the Head design. and its not that much over a ls1 head when comparing them both fully ported.
