Default Race tires on the street?

I would like to buy wheels for my car in the spring. I plan to do 18's all around, probably 9.5 or 10 in front, and 11's in the rear. I don't think I want to mini-tub the car to make a 12" with 335 fit.

The problem then is tires. No one seems to make a ~26" tall, 315 wide tire. So I found these Hoosier radial DOT road race tires, R3S03 in 275/35/18 and 305/30/18. At 25.3" and 25.6" OD, they are a bit shorter than stock though. <img src="images/icons/frown.gif" border="0">

They also have radial wet tires in the same sizes that presumably have more tread. Both look pretty cool. I wonder how they'd be on the street? I mean, we don't bat an eye at driving around on ET Streets. Seems like these could be the ultimate for the way I drive my car (lots of hard cornering and no rain).

So, am I nuts? Anybody got any better ideas?

335's will fit on the rear without min-tubbing on 11.5" wheels.

If you really want to push it, the PZero spec allows an 11" rim. People used to run the 325 MXX3's on an 11". Seems there is a little difference between Manuf 335 fit & width. I'm attempting a PZero 335 on an 11.25" shortly. No tub. CCW uses a 8.75" backspace on their 11.5" and sticks out 1/8-1/4". No Tubbing.

This guy runs that setup:
