Default This is a Quiz...

Okay, how many C5 owners have noticed that the scaling on the speedometer dial changes above 100 mph? How many didn't notice?
It's 10 mph per major increment below 100 mph, and 20 mph per major increment, above the 100 mph mark...
Next question, Why did GM do it that way? And how do they compensate for this scaling change?... I assume that the analog guage is computer driven and it's all done in cyber space... Just curious...

Yes I noticed it. I like it actually. It would be annoying to drive mostly in 1/4 of the guage (0-50).

Could it be that the scaling is for the KPH setting?...these would need the higher numbers

I like the scaling as well, the guage cluster does electronically compensate for it. If you've ever seen the GM Export 300MPH guage cluster the scaling is even more on it that piece.
