Little Black Box?

I have an important question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I have a 2000 Camaro Z28 (13.6 @ 105 1/4 mile).
There's an electrical problem somewhere and it keeps blowing the fuse that controls the radio. Immediately, I noticed that it controls the odometer as well. I have been driving the car for probably 5 thousand miles now without that fuse because it
keeps blowing it. I was told that there's a "little black box" that
records the actual miles even though the odometer isn't registering them?
Anyone know if there's is a little black box?

I believe they started putting the black boxes in around 1999 or so. These were intended to record crash data but could easily be made to record other things as well. Good Luck!

Yes, The actual dealership can not check that, But the factory has the power or where ever the car goes when it is in a wreck or something. As for as the dealership goes you will not get in any trouble.

Just a little editorial I found on the C5 Black Boxes - not overly informative, but it talks about it a little bit. The site also has a diagram and pics.
The site itself sounds very elitist, btw -- check out the editorial right above it on the drawbacks of the Camaro and the Mustang... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

This device in some form has existed in F-bodys since 1993. How do I know? Because my 1993 Firebird service manual talks about it recording data in the event of air bag deployment.
I dont think it records mileage or anything else unless the air bags deploy.
