Default ThrowOut Bearing

Can someone give me a clue as to why I hear a thud after releasing the clutch in 1st Gear. It has happened twice in the first 400 miles. The Vette Video describes a bearing sound which I heard once which is characteristic of the 6th speed with the tunne design, but this thud sound was not described in the video.

Is this with the car in or out of gear?

In, and dis-engaging from a stop. I believe it wasn't completely in 1st gear to begin with. There's like a notch before another notch, and it's probably the case. Gear pops out, becaus eitis not seated properly in 1st to begin with, and then something dislodges and I hear that thud sound. It's very loud, as if I ran over something. Sound right to you?

I had the same sort of issue when I first got my C5. (and still do once in a while). There is a sort of "second" notch feel in first and if you don't get it all the waya in it will happen. Give it a couple of weeks and you will be more comfortable with it.
