Default Have $8000 to spend please help

I have a 2000 conv. 6spd with 3.42 gears, and B&B exhaust. I ordered the ATI P1supercharger a clutch and a pair of nitto's for the back, and wonder if I made a mistake and should go another route. I want to remain as reliable as possible and be in the 450 to 490 rwhp range. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated Thank you for your time.

Well I noticed that you did not have any engine upgrades listed. Past the 400RWHP mark I would at a minimum upgrade the valvetrain some because you will start to bend pushrods. In order for you to get close to your 490-500RWHP goal you're going to have to either start running quite a bit of boost > 12 psi or you're going to have to work in the motor. You will want to get an LS6 intake, and good headers for sure. Next you will want to consider putting in a more responsive cam and then do some head work later. That should bring you in close to the 550RWHP mark on the 12psi and probably around your 450-490RWHP on 8 psi.

If you have no plans to ever really make more than 450RWHP then stick with your basic plan with the Supercharger and consider valvetrain upgrades. If you want to ever make more than that I would consider a heads/cam package. Most of these packages from good tuners are coming in with at leat 420-430RWHP. Then if you want to push past that I would add a Supercharger and you should not have any problems hitting 490-520RWHP.

Sounds like some good mods. It should make good power. It should make more power than that unless you are trying to run as safe as possible. Please list what other mods you have.

just a fyi

with the ati kit at 10 psi on a stock engine with mac headers a guy in the fi section black98ls1 ran 10.98 and dyno'd over 550rwhp I do believe.

so the numbers you quote above may be a little low.

that's because when you mod, you skip right past the 500's

I have no other mods. I was told that I could expect 490rwhp with 5lbs of boost on a stock motor, we will see. It looks like that is the way I will go. I want to run it as safe as possible. Thanks for all the help.

It's 490bhp, not rwhp. Even the 7lbs kit alone may not give you 490 rwhp, may need a LT headers.
7lbs kit rated at 535bhp per ATI. Mine's the 7lbs
