Default 1st post and a mods question

Very nice site and can't tell you how much I like the LS1.

Have owned a 99 C5 FRC for 2 1/2 years now and just completed stage I heads, GM hot cam, Z06 intake, mid length header, ASP UD pulley, #30SVO injectors, new plugs, wires, katech oil pump and timing chain.. install. In addition have been tuning PCM with a MAFT and HYPT III.

Result have exceeded my expectations. The SOTP acceleration in the power band is incrediable. My QM MPH went from 108.6 to 116. Still need to work the launch and keep from spinning the tires in 2nd... but thats just some more practice and maybe a better set of street radials (and maybe 117mph).

Anyway, here is my question, prefaced by some tuning info...

Have got the LTFT's dialed in very close to +/-0.0
Have the WOT O2's dialed also, 0.889 - 0.899
Above done with the MAFT.

With HYP III. bumped up rev limiter and set fan temps per the 160 deg t-stat install. Then went
and tried the HYP III power tuning which according to Atap advances the timing a little.

After the power tuning, had to go back and reset the MAFT WOT from 6% lean to "0" to get back in range.

Lastly, opened up the intake plate to 11/64th to help with idle. All is well except that on two occasions, the engine has just "DIED" at idle ??

Now, I was trying to stay away from custom PCM tuning because with the MAFT and the HYP III I figured with A/F there is really nothing else Ed wright or anybody else could do? However, maybe there are some idle tables that I know nothing about?
Any ideas, Tks and hope to see the C5 part of this site grow.
Rick

Sounds like a good combo, but you may benefit by using LS1edit. You can raise your idle to about 850-900rpm and you'll be fine. You can tune with it and still keep your maft if you want for small adjustments or adding nitrous <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> .
