Engine Dyno #'s I was hoping for 600 HP... but came up twelve shy. Not to shabby for a daily driver/Nitrous motor. This motor isn't a trailer queen race motor, it's built for the long haul. This means some things were left in or out for the sake of longevity. We gave up some compression, smaller cam, pulled some timing along with heavier pistons and rings for the NO2. All things considered I'm pumped! The power curve with the old set up was great and this set up is even better. It made peak power @ 6200 rpms and held within 2hp of peak from 6000rpm thru 6800rpm. What a stump puller, it makes over 300 hp at 2900 rpm and never looks back. This darn thing makes less noise than a stock motor. No ticking ect... Idles at 750 I'm hoping with the fatter power curve and extra pony's it will run a tenth or two quicker N/A. And I like the idea of having a low rev motor with ton's of torque..a great street motor.

Re: Engine Dyno #'s These #'s are from the DRM motor. I will be putting the 422ARE on the pump after Bowling Green. I wanted to dyno them both back to back but time seems to always run short.
The ARE422 has a larger cam than I want to run so it won't be an apples to apples comparo.. The numbers should be pretty close to the DRM motor. I plan on calling Nick to see if I can swap for a smaller cam before we run the motor.

Re: Engine Dyno #'s Dennis,I'm a little confused,so this is your second 427 within the last six months,but it's not Jeremy's ARE 422 you bought?What happened to the first 427?Was it damaged due to nitrous use etc?

Re: Engine Dyno #'s No damage, just lost a couple of head gaskets last fall. And yep 3 motors total. I be trying some new parts over the next few months. The 422 is going into a project vehicle and the other 427 is going to be a test mule for a while.
