Default ARE C-5 NEW BEST 9.25 @ 155

After having some trans issues in BG last weekend while testing with John L. we are happy with the changes to the trans and ran a best of 9.25 @ at just under 155mph. We stepped the No2 down after BG (tnt direct port) and still ran 155 mph, we then put the bigger hit back in and had some other problems at the 1/8th. We had shaveed .15 by the 1/8th of the 9.25 pass and should have been a 9.0 or 8.9 something!!

Oh well, that's racing. Happy none the less!

Still looking for the 8's

Great job Nick, 8's are right around the corner! I'll be in contact soon since I want some opinions on your 360 or 382 shortblocks. I'm thinking about just going ahead and buying one for my upcoming Manuson blower. I want to run low 10s and have decent drivability. I did it with my 383 T-trim Trans Am so I'm sure I can do it with my C5. Later

Man, that's really great....a C5 on the verge of an 8 second ET. Outf##king standing!!!!!
What kind of drivetrain can handle that in a C5?

WE are using a heavily modified factory 4l60e trans (our deal), a PI converter!! and a factory rearend with a set of drag shocks. We do have our "new" 15" rim set up that alows us to run a true "skinny" on the front as well a set of 28x10.5 ET drags.

With sh** conditions it still ran a 1.39 60ft on the last pass (didn't make a full run).

I am amased how well the cars suspension and drivetrain is holding up under these conditions!

Congrats on the run!!! 8's ARE knocking <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

What gears are you running? Also what stall?

Also, what do you think about putting on a set of coil overs?
thanks

3:42 gears and a 3500 converter with lockup!

I wouldn't spend the money on the coilovers, 1.39 60 fts are pretty good and can't see getting much better(1.35). I can't see a bennefit in a drag setup??

That Vette is FLYING! Congrats on the new best guys. 8s are coming soon, and its just weird that a Vette will do it before an F-body haha.

Congrats.
I'm just sorta curious as to why the package is in a C5 as opposed to an F-body?
Wouldn't a car with live rearaxle and the F-Body suspension setup be better off for a "drag car" ?

This is a great way to have fun and market our base hyd. 422, it just so happens to be in a vette!

Our 98 F-body is coming out soon and will be a little more rad. with a soildroller 422 and a 300shot, we hope to see mid to high 8's.

I am not sure if the f-body will be much faster with this engine but deff. more consistent and reliable at these power levels with the choices in rearend/susp. available.
