Default 16 inch rim on rear of c5

Could someone give me an answere to this? A friend of mine has a new set of 16 inch z28 rims and I was going to take two of them and mount a sticky on them for the track, My question is this will a 16 inch rim clear the brake calipers on a new c5 like they did on the c4 vettes? Has anyone tried this for track use?

Thanks,
Dwayne

A stock F-body 16x8 rim will fit, but you have to clearance the A-arm a little. No brake issues with the ones I've seen.

it means test-fit it and get out the grinder.

Would spacers allow me do avoid doing any grinding?
