Going to the drag strip saturday. Suggestions?
Since then I've added an underdrive pulley, T1 cam, Nitto 555R 275-40R17 tires and replaced the exhaust with Corsa Indys.
I still have stock intake, heads, headers, cats, clutch and stock tuning.
Does anyone have any launch/driving suggestions?
Any ET predictions?
Thanks,
Eric

I'll guess 12.4@114.3mph or a 12.7@115.8 depending on your launch success.
Most important, just have fun! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
This time I'm going to try 40psi in front, 20 psi in the rear and give the Nitto's a really good burnout. I'm going to shift off the HUD since I havent raise my rev limiter yet.
LS1Edit will be here in 3 weeks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Ok, lets get you down the track. Line lock? What was the low RPM that you tried?
I think I tried as low as 2000rpm, still spun. I think I needed to get into the gas a little slower. Hopefully it will be easier on drag radials.

The first time I went to the track I was exited, but used to my Firestone RF's, so I didn't know exactly what I needed to do to take advantage of the DR's.(The max I could launch those at was 2000RPM or I'd spin)
My best 60 that day was 1.96 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
The following week, I talked to some people who educated me, and here's what I learned:
These tires need to be UNDER 20 lbs to do well-- I ran at 17 lbs.
The stage is vital to your results-- I went around the water, and cooked them at ~5K for about 5-8 sec...until they pulled the car forward too much for the brakes to hold without bogging...
Finally, I launched at about 4500-5000RPM, and floored it-- (almost, but not quite dumping the clutch--like a really rapid slip) and it felt good no bog or loss of traction--
This got me to a 1.88 '60--- and I know there is more in the tires, so I'm going to adjust my technique this Thursday and see how it goes-- as a baseline, though--I hope this will help you get used to them quicker than it did me <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
