picked up consistent 2mph trap with free airbox mod!
I had been to HRP on sunday (5-19) and made four runs. Weather was 72, dewpoint 58, 55% humidity. I trapped 113.4, 114.0, 112.9, and 112.2. The car was bonestock (besides a shifter and TR55 plugs).
I went yesterday and picked up a k&n and some tie-wraps. Installed the filter, ditched the top portion of the box and that was it. Only change to car.
Went back to HRP tonight (3-22) and made three runs. weather was 76, dewpoint 66, humidity 70%. I trapped 115.67, 115.50, and buzzed rev limiter in 3rd gear on the last run and trapped 112.9.
This is a GREAT, CHEAP mod!! The car pulled NOTICEABLY harder and the trap speeds confirmed it. Even the 1/8 mile traps were up almost 1-1.5mph from Sundays runs (which, btw, where in slightly better weather).
I recommend this to anyone wanting more performance from the intake dept, but who are not willing to shell-out $500 bones like all of these intake products are demanding!!

<strong>A local guy with a Z06 did the exact same How different are they from Z06 air boxes?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The '01 Z06 airbox opening is bigger than the C5 LS1 opening, but the '02s are opened up even more, I think. <img border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" title="" src="graemlins/z06.gif" />
BTW, does anybody have a pic of a stock C5 airbox? How different are they from Z06 air boxes?
