Default torque converters, which one?

I've decided to upgrade my torque converter and was wanting some feedback from some vette owners who have already done this. I don' want anything to radical as this car is a dailey driver. I was thinking maybe a 2400/ 2800 stall speed.
anyone out there got opinions, which brands are best, or good/ bad experiences?
the only mods I've done so far are donaldson filter and maf ends. after the torque converter, I'm planning on doing some exhaust work. that probabley won't be for 6 or 8 months though.
also, would it be a good idea to have the car power tuned after the torque converter? TIA.

2800 at a minimum if you want some "Go" off the line.

I know some guys that have the 4800's.

Hook up with some folks that have the bigger stalls and see if they are livable enough for you.

I love my ST3800 from Yank. Its an awesome street converter IMO, look to drop 6-8 tenths off your Et with it alone if you can hook up . You can't go wrong with a ST3500 either. Both are great street converters.

If you are not into racing, go with the PT-2400. It drives like stock but will give you a great launch, I did a 1.84 last year with it. I changed mine out for the ST-3500 Yank, WOW!

Depends on what you want to do with the car. Although I know I really wanted the ST3500 or ST3800 for the strip, I opted for the SY3500 since it was the better choice for my daily driving habits. I've been very happy with it so far. Converters are a little like women... It's hard to choose between blondes, brunettes and red heads because they are all fun.

I have had a 3500 rpm Vigilante for about 2 months now on my '02 'Vette and love it. Feels like NOs when you tromp on it, run flats are useless on the track. However, I did get one good run with them on an 1/8 mile track and lowered my times over 0.2 sec. in the 1/8 mile (8.05 sec. @ 88 mph). I have a set of new BFG DR's ready to be mounted so that should help.

I think you will find the ProTorque 2900 (or 2400) will be right up your ally. I have had the PT2900 in my car and without heads and cam the car ran 12.15 in good weather. I had driven the car to Bowling Green, Florida and Carlisle numerous times (72,000 miles)with no problems. I now have a 4400 (but also have 4.10's) and still have great street driveability.
