I don't know that much about induction on Z06's, but I would look up on K&N and other sites first. Look for corvette specialty sites, I know they make some custom induction stuff for the vettes. If you post this topic in Forced Induction or in one of the talk about anything places I'm sure they'll give you a bigger response.

I'd get a blackwing....thats kind of the "standard" like a directflo or mti air lid would be to an F-body. Easily the best bang for the buck of the intake setups.

As for headers, you have loads of choices. SLP, TPIS, TTS, FLP, LGM, RKSport.

SLP: Dunno much about the SLPs, nobody has em yet.

TPIS/RKSport: cheap, but require you to mangle your stock hpipe and need welding for install.

LGM:probably the best header setup out, however its very pricey, and once again requires you to mangle your stock hpipe meaning returning to stock will be a hassle and self install is a bit more indepth.

FLP: truly bolt on solution, mid-high range price, but significantly less than LGM's and no modification to the hpipe is needed.

So, if you are bargain hunting, get TTS, if you are wanting to do the install yourself and may sell the car later, get FLPs, and if you want a no holds barred top performer and have money laying around, get the LGMs.

SLP's will fit in the equation somewhere in there once more people get them and more info becomes available.

For all out performance I think Vortech intake and LGM LT's. This should SERIOUSLY uncork that Z-06. Enough to satisfy me without ever cracking open the engine. Say "Thank you GM!"

For intake I would recommend either the Halltech or the Vararam. I have the Halltech and it works great. People have seen very good results with the Vararam too. I would suggest getting a MAF Translator to go with the intake , it will make more power and give you better mileage to boot. As for headers , I love the FLP's. They are high quality and work very well. The fact that the whole system bolts on is a huge plus , in my opinion. I also have the Borla cat-back and with the FLP's , using the off-road pipes , it is insanely loud. But it sounds great With the cats on it has a great sound and nobody will mistake it for stock. If you use the FLP's with their high flow cats , the Halltech intake and the MAF Translator , you should be able to pick up about 30 rwhp. Of course you'll have to do a little fine tuning on a dyno with the MAFT , but it's worth it.

1/2 second from a 3.90 gear? I think that depends on driver ability. If you can't get your car out of the hole with the stock gears , a shorter gear might show a decent gain. However , if you can launch your car with the stock gears , a 3.90 won't show that big of a gain. I know that I wouldn't pick up anywhere near five tenths of a second , maybe 1-2 tenths , but that's all. I could think of better ways to spend $2000 , but maybe some people don't want to be able to use 1st gear on the street.

The Halltech does work , but you really should get a MAF Translator to get the most out of it. I saw a gain of 30 rwhp with just the Halltech , MAF Translator and 30# injectors. You don't really need the injectors , I did those for future mods. I already told you , call FLP for the headers! They will sell them to you for $1500.00. Just tell them I sent you.
