Default Need advice on heads!

I need some suggestions on what heads to start out with, along with what cam(s) would work best.

427ci LS-1 Block, Twin-Turbo, possibly NOS, custom intake and headers (leaning toward 18 degree)

We decided that finding heads to bolt on is more than impossible, so we got to spend a couple weeks maching some. What should we start with?

Start with calling Lingenfelter Performance, Agostino Racing, Katech, Motorsports Tech and almost every other LS1 tuner, they've all got the heads you are looking for. And ported LS6 heads would be a good bet to "start" with. Or if dinero is scarce, run some regular LS1 or 5.3 heads, they can be made to flow similar, but not exact. Imo, your wanting this thing to breathe and run like an all star, so put the best you possibly can on. LS6 ported

Why don't you use the C5R heads that belong on the block you are using? Or is that too simple of a solution?

Since you're gonna have to custom fabricate a set of heads, how bout some ZL-1 DOHC 85cc heads ?

I have 3 pairs laying around that Ling hasn't picked up yet. <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

Matt, if i still lived in Tallahassee i would drive over to J-action-ville to put 'em up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> lol all in fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> But, almost any ported LS6 head or Gen III head would work well on it. LPEs TT 427 is fixing to turn 8s, so im sure they could get you a good head design <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
