18" drag radials...who wants em!?
This is not an advertisement, gp, or sale of any kind. This thread is to show the interest/demand for a drag radial to be made in an 18" size that will work on Fbodies, c5s, Z06s, and even stangs. If the demand is there (it is) we can get this tire built. We just need to hear from you. Please reply, and include a size you think would be best. Thank you all for your time!

Well of course Nitto already has their 305x45x18 555R drag radial but that thing is huge (too tall for most applications)!
I think a nice 285 or 295x35 or 40 DR would be a good idea, especially from BFG.

Re: 18" drag radials...who wants em!?
I've emailed nitto tire several times over the past year to let them know there is a demand, not only for the 555R, but the 555R2!
As of right now, there isn't a single streetable race compound tire we can daily drive on with stock rims. If they made the 555R2's in C5 sizes and Z06 sizes I cant imagine why anybody would run any other tire.

18 inch tires will not have enough sidewall to wrinkle enough to hook. Runn 17 inch nittos or et stretts on 16 inch rims!

We want STREET tires that hook better than whats available. I run 18" rims on the street like 99% of all other C5 owners. An 18" nitto drag radial is going to hook better than any other 18" tire that fits our car right now. Even if it didnt, not all of us care about drag racing, and the extra soft rubber would help IMMENSLY with handling, especially in autoX.

I would buy them. I use the NT555R 275-40-17 on my T/A as a daily driver. I would do the same for the Vette, especially after I do the torque converter.

Id Like (285) 40 17 Or (285) 50 17 For More Sidewall Flex.....Just Received (2) 275 40 17 Today From Yall For My TA...Really Love The Tires But Would Like A Few More Choices In The 17" Range...

315/35-18
This would have the same diamater as the stock C5 tires.
My second vote goes for 295/40-18
Iam in serious need for some good tires
