2001 ZO6 upgrades
I hope these are much easier to add headers to than a LT1 Firebird.
I read the difference between 2002 and 2001 ZO6 is cam, exhaust, and air box lid.Which aftermarket manufacturer has the best of these upgrades for to make this car more powerful than a 2002? The headers, exhaust, and air box lid are for sure, cam is a maybe if it makes a huge difference. Goal is to bust my buddy with 2001 Z28 with him running 75 hp NOS.
Appreciate any suggestions!
Those are the 4 mods to do on the car. If you want to go a step further, you can add heads. Your mufflers are fine as they are stock so no need to waste money on a catback.
Basically it sounds like doing the mods mentioned so far should get you to the 380-390rwhp range. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Add a cam to that and over 400 should be NP. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
[QB]My buddy did a Votex intake, X-pipe (no cats) and TPIS headers ($899) and dyno'd 387rwhp in his 02'. He recently ran 12.19@121 2.0 60'.

I just assumed we were talking about Zo6s so I just said the year. It is an 02' Z06. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
We have half of the run on tape and a guy from another board is gonna try and convert it for me. If I can get it I'll post it up but it's all legit.
Don is still getting used to driving/racing a stick car again (ran auto's for a long time) so his ET and MPH is usually only around 12.28@118-119 but he also weighs 240lbs?. On the 12.19@121 run he let another buddy of ours that is only about 150lbs drive it and he tends to powershift the upper gears, hence the high MPH.
I could get him to post up for anymore details if you guys want em. I don't wanna say the wrong thing, I'd rather he tell ya. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Justin is right, you should be able to make some good gains with just bolt-ons and tuning. I gained 21 rwhp from the headers and removing the cats alone. The 2001 will gain even more with the elimination of the pre cats. These Z06's run really rich from the factory causing loss of HP and MPH, so tuning is a must.
And yes I needed to recruit a skinny guy with M6 experience to run the 121mph. My driving is so bad , I stalled the car trying to brake stand it at the track.
Anyway, here's a copy of my dyno sheet. All of my mods are in my sig.
