2002 LS6 cam upgrade
If you did, what cam and what type of increase did you see?
Thanks
Matt Sr.
I forget, does the '00 have the LS6 intake? If not, I don't think that you would see the gains that the cam can give you. It is so docile under 4000rpm, but after that, it SCREEMS!!!
As for actual power gains, I have not hit the dyno yet. I'm hoping for 380+ rwhp.
I had the complete 2002 LS6 engine installed after the LS1 spun some bearings and threw some rods.
I did get 2 runs in before it blew. I installed the LS6 cam, LS6 intake and MAC headers w/ORP. Went from 13.5 to 12.95. But the 60' times were 2.2+, so it's really not a good indication of what those parts could produce.
As of today, I have about 7000 miles on the cam. When I do the cam swap, it won't be until later in the spring. 12 bolt & 4.10's comes first.

a guy named TAMU is making 420rwhp with stock heads and a Fastech F1 cam:

I'm putting down just over 420 with stock heads and the TR227/224 cam. LS6's love a good cam.
