My buddy has a 2001 Z06 and he was wondering if any of you Z06 guys have done a gear swap. He is willing to spend the money on them if they will help pick up his E.T. He was wondering what gear would be the best 3.73's, 3.90's, or 4.11's. Or shoul he just leave it stock? He doesn't want to run slicks just DR's. Any help would be appreciated.

3.73s are probably one of the best all around gears you can run. But, if im not mistaken, the LPE TT 427 is running the 3.42s and that just pulled an 8.95 not too long ago (altho its got a prepped 4L60E now vs the 6speed). My vote would be for 3.73s, great gear for street/strip use, but his stock gears should be fine, imo

Because of the Z06's specific gear ratio m12. A 3:42 stock rear ratio is like having a 3:73 with the standard mn6 trans. Hope this helps!! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
