The coupes are 118lbs more I believe. I've seen a FRC and ZO6 weight of 3179lbs.
That makes the coupes 3297lbs.

How about we all give John59 some help and forget about the weight? We all own Corvettes and they are light. Let's just remember they are lighter than Camaros.

Cary - how do you like the G5X3 for driving? Anything special done to install? I think John59 and myself could both benefit from it. I see it's on a 114 so that would work great with my 200 shot of juice. I just want more initial "ummph".

John, even though my C5 is not a daily driver it is very streetable. LGMotorsports did the install & tune. I've never had any start up, or idle issues. I have no regrets w/G5X-3 [114] cam, only

Thanks for the input guys,This is all great info. I was just told to look at the Cartek 2X as well,I'm trying to get this all finished by August 6th for the Corvette Challange here at Moroso, only time they allow full 1/4 mile runs in a convert without a 5 point rollcage.

I'd try,

LS6 manifold
Vararam
LG headers/ no cats
catback
Yank PT4000
DTE 3.90's
TSP 233/239
CCW drag wheel package

That should get you into the mid to low 11's without a problem. I've never weighed the vehicle yet, but its a 99A4 Z51 coupe, The track day I ran my 11.45 was with a full tank of gas.

I drive this car to work any day its nice out, highway and stop and go, no problems

I'm looking to finish my spray install soon

JEFF

Streetable is a totally subjective term and it can mean totally different things to different people. What might be considered "streetable" by one might be, and often is, totally unacceptable to another. My personal opinion is that to run in the low 11's in a full-weight A4 car with stock-displacement that it takes too big a cam and too big a converter for the average person to really be happy with the end result. A larger displacement motor that you get away with putting a bigger cam in or a shot of nitrous to get you over the hump on a stock-displacement car would get you into the low 11's with a friendlier-to-drive, more "streetable" car.

Also, fwiw, the weight difference between a full-weight C5 and a full-weight F-body isn't that great. The race weight of my 1999 Camaro SS was ~3640 lbs and the race weight of my C5 is ~3525 lbs. They say 100 lbs is worth 1/10 second in the 1/4 miles so you can see the weight advantage isn't a huge one.
I agree !! My car is a 346 N/A ci and runs 11.0s @ 124 but it is probably not considered a daily driver by most (especially my wife). I drive it all the time and even 10 hours to the beach. Even if you are making enough power to run in the elevens, you will certainly need some traction like MT drag radials or ET Streets.
