Good price for a 1998 C5 M6?

Good price for a 1998 C5 M6? Its a 1998 c5 m6, he says its magnetic red.. looks like fire torch red to me but anyways, 38k mi, very clean car. The guys asking 22900 obo. Should I jump on this or are there better deals to be had?

Magnetic Red didn't come out until 1999, in 1998 there were two reds, one was torch red, which is the bright red, the other is Carmine Red, which is an orangy red, and that is the color of this one here. It's a relatively rare color. The price is too high though. You could find 2000s and even 2001s for that price.

The "red orangey" color was Torch Red..Light Carmine Red Metallic (1567 built) was similar to the Magnetic Red Metallic that came out in 1999..only not as dark..$23K is high for a 1998 model. Negociate him down to a more reasonable price. Average Black Book on the car back in April was $14950 and in May it fell out of the book because of its age. That is a wholesale number of course. A real retail number for the car is about $19K-$20k...$21 tops.

Here is a picture which shows a Carmine Red C5 near a Torch Red C5. As you can see, the Torch Red one (in the background) is a much brighter red, while the Carmine Red one is the darker red.

$21K is really ALL the money for that car..I would try and buy it for less..it is an old car..plus all 97-99 Corvettes have those ugly wide spoke wheels on them..to me that means you have to figure the cost of putting a set of good looking wheels on it into the purchase price....good luck in your quest sir

Does the car have HUD, dual zone A/C, memory package, 12 disc CD player?
If not, I'd be hard pressed to give $20k for the car unless it had new rubber on it. and even then................
there are better deals out there, trust me.

The Head Up Display RPO code UV6 was not available as an option untill the 1999 model year..either beat this guy down on his price or keep looking there are lots of other deals out there..don't get locked into just this car thinking you will not find another nice one..
