Question Turbo or Supercharger?????????

i don't kno if i should get a turbo kit or a supercharger for my c5. I already have intake and exhaust done. what i want to kno is which one will make more power?, and if i decide to get the turbo, what size should i get it? also I want to kno if my transmission or rear axle can take that much power? oh which one will be cheaper? and for some reason i've found numerous sites of where i can get superchargers but not for turbo's, i've only found two sites for turbo's, one of them is lingenfelter, but there a little too expensive for me . so if anybody has any suggestions i would really appreciate it

There are alot of choices for superchargers, everyone seems to like the procharger the best, and there are turbo kits available for c5s.

In the long run a twin turbo car will make more power then a supercharged car, but the twin turbo kit is more expensive, and by the time your done everything internally will have to be forged if you want to make more power then a out of the box supercharger.

You will need a better clutch, better halfshafts, and I think any kit you get s/c or turbo will come with an upgraded fuel system including injecters, and its only a matter of time till you blow your rear or break something internally with serious power.

Long story short I would do a D1SC Procharger Kit with twin coolers.

I had to re write my post I talk to much lol

If money is no object Turbos. If you can wait Kenny Belle is coming out with a killer Roots style S/C that makes killer torque. Other wise STS is coming out with a rear mounted TT kit. There are no sponsered Single turbo kits that I know of, they are out there but most are custom or old kits no longer made. Basically the turbos will give you some awesome power and torque teh S/C kits are cheaper but still not cheap.

Over 450 RWHP I highly suggest a build tranny and cooler at a min. The bottom end will last alot longer then most think. Its all in the tune. I have 488 RWHP with a crappy tune (cuts off and pulls timing at 5200 RPMS) it has 20,000 miles on it with a stock block and stock exhaust minus the Z06 catback and no problems other then my tranny output shaft and my rearend. And that was due to wheel hop.

Good luck with deciding. Until you pull the trigger you are gonna have alot of sleepless nights lol

Procharger=best. That Kenny Belle looks sweet and gets sweet power. Dont know much about it though. I wonder what it does on gas mileage haha.

thanks guys for the advice, but what i forgot to say is, im only lookin run 7 to 9 psi max, so hopefully i won't have to change my internals.if i won't need a new bottom end or transmission, i'll most likely go with the turbo kit. o and i don't want to pass 450rwhp b/c as badmonkey and several other ppl have told me in the past i'll probably need to build a tranny, which i don't right now.

I've had both a ProCharger D-1SC and a Twin Turbo (TTi Stage X) setup. The TT's make much more power under the curve. I run 10-11 lbs of boost on my stock bottom end, FWIW.

If your goal is 450 then a head and cam + boltons will be another option

My recommendation of 450 rwhp with great driveability, and good gas mileage with the least hassle would be an ATI ProCharger D-1SC. ATI just revised the brackets on the C5 kit, making a good kit even better! Too many turbo companies come and go, and ATI ProCharger has been in business for a long time. Bob
