Oh well, to get back on topic. If ever GM was to lack some ideas to get the vette faster and better. There'll Alway be tuners like Lingenfelter who'll produce monsters like this one :

Read your articles... quote from one of the corvette engineers said something to the effect of "well, we could add more power, but it starts giving less benefits north of 500 hp. The future of ultra-high-performance is in getting lighter weight."
So yeah, I figure they might throw a few more HP at us here or there, just to make sure nobody gets ahead of them, but the real focus is going to be on carbon fiber and advanced lightweight materials.

Just think of the possibilities for methods of creating 500 or more horsepower in the future...
I think that in the next 5 to 7 years when the next generation is produced you may see GM create a hybrid .Since gas prices while probably double by then.This is just conjecture but it may still translate into more horsepower...
