Default ZO6 Cam in C5?

I am thinking about intstalling a 02 Z06 cam in my FRC. I wanted to know how many of you have put a ZO6 cam in your vette? I wanted to know what kind of dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times people are running with that cam and all the bolt ons? I would think with the driver and all the bolt-ons with some good traction i think 11s would be possible. I tired to do a search about this but did not find much at all.

2002 C5 Z06 cam is not worth the effort or costs .

At the very least put in a 224/224 .563 114lsa along with a dual valve spring kit.

With stock ls1 heads? I'd suggest you'd put out approximately 370 rwhp.

It should cost you about 2 grand for the installed cam and spring kit along with a tune.

You need headers as well so figure combined with the cam /valve spring kit should cost in the area of 3600 dollars along with the tune.

If I remember correctly that is the best package price with the dual valve spring kit.

I did the headers first years back for about 2 grand installed...then did the cam /valve springs /tune and pulley for about???? 2400

The 2002 ls6 cam by itself is not in my opinion worth the labor costs...

If you don't have to worry about emissions testing in your area? I'd suggest a bigger cam even than the 224/224 114lsa in hindsight.

I'm with these guys, the Z06 cam will not be worth the effort/cost to install. Go with something a little bigger for better gains and way more power. You might get only 10-15hp without the LS6 heads.

Well i guess i forgot to mention that this total project is going to cost me about $100. I guy here locally is selling a ZO6 cam and springs for $100. I will be doing the install as well. I want a bigger cam but i just cant afford the tuning and dual springs and everything else so i think for now this will be a nice little bump in power for hardly any money. I also plan on spraying my car so i am not going with anything too big. But i am still thinking about it. Thanks for the opinions. Any more info from guys that have done this would be appreciated.

I put in the stock 04 LS6 H/C in my a4 2.73 vette a year ago....

Power was 299 rwhp on the bone stock LS1 on a dyno jet SAE corrected...

Same dyno jet got 340 rwhp after the LS6 head and cam....

Picked up 4 mph through the 1/4 mile....

Now Ive still got the same stock LS6 heads buy I changed the cam to a 224/224 563 112...

Gained 2.5 mph over the stock LS6 cam....

Since the LS6 heads are only good for about 10 rwhp over the LS1 heads....Or 1 mph through the trapps....

I picked up about 3 mph from the LS6 cam over the LS1 cam.....And 5.5 mph with the 224 cam over the stock LS1 cam....

They both idle the same once warmed up....The 224 just has a rougher start and idle till warm....The LS6 wont even act like you changed the cam....

DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE.....

AT MY TRACK IN HAWAII....

Bone stock LS1 with 2.73's.......Trapped 102

Bone stock LS6 with 2.73's.......Trapped 106

Bone stock LS6 heads and 224/224 cam.....Trapped 108

Just spend 250 bucks on a used TR 224/224 cam and do it right the first time...

It's your car and your money,$3 per hp is a helluva a deal.Sure a bigger cam will make more hp, will require an expensive tune and your cost per hp will be in the $75 range.Surprized someone didn't push for a Lingenfelter twin turbo....There are dozens of f-body members on this site who went the zo6 cam route, we are all not rich!

In that case... if you have the time and want to spend the time on swapping it out then do it. Thats a great price for cam and springs. I would personally go bigger if it was my car...(funny cause that cam is in my car)

If your deal falls thru,i have a LS6 cam,push-rods,retainers and springs from a 2003 LS6 crate engine,7000 miles.I'm going to sell for $175 plus shipping.I will put it up on ebay sunday probably.
I'm going with a bigger cam since we have no emissions here.
