Default Rebuild on a flooded vette?

Anyone ever had to rebuild/fix problems assosiated with a completely flooded vette?
I have a 98 available to me to buy for $500. I have a 98 camaro that I could swap parts out from if need be (like enigine, trans, computer, etc.). I figure anything electrical I would have to replace, as well as some or all of the interior. How much work would this really be? How much could it cost if I can supply the major components?

I guess I dont want to get into something over my head, but it sure would be nice to have a vette for 2k or so.

Do it. Strip out the whole INT thats nasty, and the electrical system. and start from there. Even if it sits in your garage for two years while you slowly work on it, sooner or later your gonna have a vette that is yours, and yours only, you know every bolt on it, and you know everything is right. Do it.

If you don't want it, I'll take it.

Do IT!!! I would love the opportunity to basically build a C5 from the ground up exactly the way I wanted it the first time.

You could make money on the parts or at least what you bought it for. I'd try to fix/restore it at least..........Might be a fun project, if you got the tools, space and time.

Get it!! The motor alone is worth the 500 and it can be rebuilt if needed. The electrical will be the worst part depending on how much water the car took. I am going to bring my 71 back from being flooded, but it is an older car with much simplier electronics.

My 91 Mustang vert went two feet under in 01, only lost three relays , the fuel pump under the drivers seat. amd the two top relays in the trunk, drove it another 25,000 miles before I sold it.No serious problems...Rear quarter window quit as did speedometer, still drove good. The body panels on that vette are worth $4000,I find $500 to be unbelievable!
