Default Rumor has it that the new Z06.......

That the new Z06's are pieces of crap. I have heard from hear and there that they are finding metal shavings in the oil and inside the motor from breakin. I don't know anything more than that and apparently a few people are just waiting to hear when they start falling apart.

So what have you heard and is it from reliable sources? Or can you defuse or validate the rumors?

give it some time, i think it is too early for a final verdict. they look great on paper and put down advertised numbers. I see no reason why top of the line vette would take a nose dive in quality all of a sudden.

Having said that, IF i was in the market for a new Z06 (i can dream, can't I ) i'd wait until at least 2nd model year to make sure it's all tight.

You do realize that the LS7 is hand build to very exact tolerances using very high tech equipment. And that breakin is the final honing of the cylinders, which should make some metal shavings. That is the reason a lot of people change the oil several times before they even get to 1000 miles.

Come on man, the LS7 is a great engine. What are you trying to do here?

And thats why the engine cost $5,000,000 its all hand built i think the last thing the GM would do is cheap out on the LS7 IMO.

Any car that can do 0-60 mph in mis 3's.....The 1/4 mile in mid 11's......Track the nuranburg faster than actual race cars and only get beat by a car that cost 450,000....

FOR ON 65,000 $ IS DEFIENTLY NOT A PEICE OF CRAP....

I dont care if actual body panels start coming off in the first year....Your buying this car for the SHEER Ford GT straight line beating performance and image....

The C6 Z06 should EASILY be selling for a 90,000 msrp...

Youve got Above dodge Viper performance.....And an interior and creature comforts and gas mileage that the Viper will never have...

For ONLY 65,000....

Heck....I paid 63,000 for my 2001 Lincoln Navigator in 2000...

Now thats a peice of crap car that cost a lot more than expeditions and all the other 30-45,000 dollar SUV's at the time....

AND IT'S FALLING APART.....nO BETTER ENGINE OR INTERIOR OR ANYTHING...

jUST PAID A BUNCH FOR A STUPID NAME THAT i THOUGHT WAS KOOL AT THE TIME.....

The C6Z06 is the real deal and it will be a solid 10 years before normal cars like GTO's and Mustang Cobras reach it's level of straight line performance...

Even the Viper is gonna have a hard time hitting it's 3 tenth advantage performance.....

Every one says the Vipers a V10 and still has so much potential left....

There full of crap....It barely gets 10 miles to the gallon now....Imagine if they try to get 50 more HP from it to match the Z06 in performane...

Theyll be getting 8 miles to the gallon from that thing....

The Z06 is getting 440-460 rwhp and still gets 20 somthing miles per gallon..

Theres SO much potential in this 65,000 dollar car...

HOW COULD ANY BODY KNOCK IT....yOUR GETTING A CAR FOR 65,000 THAT CAN OUT PERFORM MOST CARS THAT COST 2OO,000 PLUS DOLLARS..

Of course theres gonna be some minor problems...Especialy in the first year.

Yeah........I hear yah. I didn't mean to start a bashing thread by calling the Z06 a piece of crap. By no means do I think its a piece of crap, I just heard some people talking about how they heard the Z06 is falling apart and that there sources they heard this from was reliable (suposedly). So I wanted to hear if there is any truth to this..........

This car was not built to be a Straightline performer. IT was designed to Road Race. It just happens to run Great straightline #'s.

Well over at the Z06 forum, which I frequent, there are no complaints yet other than some rotor issues by any C6Z owner. I've had rotor issues with every Vette I've owned.
