New Cam is in. Pros and cons after one week.
O.K. I just installed a TR 230/224 575/563 111LSA cam in my 99 FRC. Along with the install went Patriot dual LSX springs, and LS1 edit. The cam idles like a Corvette from the late 60's . This I like. What I do not like is the extra valvetrain noise from a combination of larger Cam and dual springs. At 3500 the engine comes alive and pulls all the way to the redline. I still have factory mufflers so the noise level is not real bad.
Sorry, but I have not been to the track to date. Since its winter I amy not get real world results until spring.

Just a suggestion. You may want to get rid of that stock exhaust for a Z06 stock titanium exhaust. You can find them for about $450 used, they aren't too noisy, they flow great and they will save you some weight.

Kset, I agree on the Z06 exhaust, it may come next.
Went to the track last Saturday 11/19 and only ran three runs. first pass I did not change anything from my prior runs in reference to launch and shift RPM. During the first run I manged a 12.26@115.3 with a sluggish 1.99 60'. Second run I changed my shift points from 5800 to 6200 (since I now have dual springs) and launched at 3500, abiut 750 more than the first run. This run netted a better 60' but slower MPH. 12.20@114.6 with a 1.88 60'. During the run I noticed somethig just was not right . The RPM's during shifts did not react like usual. Is the clutch slipping I wondered . For the third run waited about an hour for everything to cool then went to stage. I staged and lowered my launch rpms to 2800 and went at it... Well initial thoughts were correct, the clutch would not hold at WOT was I. But heck Ihave almost 250 runs and 30K on the stock clutch. Now its time to research clutches. I am hoping for 11.80's next spring with new DR's and clutch.
