Default Favorite Headers

I was thinking on changing out headers with some Kooks 1 7/8". I currently have the TPIS and I like them they still look real good but was thinking since they have been on the car before the Kooks or lots of others came out what was everyones favorite?

I went with the Dynatech Supermaxx system. Good quality, fit, & finish. Plus they look great, not that you can really see them anyway.

I like my LGs, but they are only 1 3/4 inch headers. I have a friend who went with the Kooks and they are good as well.

Depends on your goals
I got 1 7/8 because Im getting a 408
If I would have stuck with stock cubes I would have gone with LGs

Can't go wrong with the LG Motorsports LT headers or the Kooks 1-7/8 headers. You'll make less torque with the 1-7/8 if you're on the stock cubes.

Kooks and LG are the top two in my opinion. I had Kooks on my '00 and now on my '02. I heard some things about the LG's, so I'd have to put Kooks #1.

I've had Kooks and now have LG's, the LG's make more tq than the Kooks and the LG's are WAY easier to install.

LG makes a good product, just don't deal with Bobby if you buy from them and you'll be ok.

btw, don't go 1-7/8 unless your going big cubes, you'll loose tq.

Lg's were a beotch to install on my car. But, like you said, I made more torque then anyone when I was stock. People didn't belive me. Great header.

Just call Lou directly, no problem at all.

Kooks are simple to install, I just don't like the shorter length compaired to the long tubes from LG.

would a stock cube blown (500-550rwhp) car benifit from the 1 7/8''?

or is 1-7/8'' still only for big cubes?

I'd say that your moving enough air to benefit useing these headers, without a doubt.

I just installed LG Pro's earlier this week. It took me about 6 hours working slowly on jack stands. The headers went in real easy IMO. My car sounds completly differnt now. I had borla mufflers already, so now with headers and no cats it gets loud when your into the rpm's.

I'm not sure but I think LG makes 1 7/8 headers. I know they installed some on the new 06 Z06 they have been working on! I think that the LG's are the way to go, but you have a stroked motor and wouldn't benifit as much from 1 3/4 as 1 7/8 headers. I would see if LG makes the larger size headers for your car first then if they don't.........go with something else. When I installed mine, they went in very easily!

I have the Dynatech's and I am happy with them, if I had wanted to spend the $600 more on headers I would have got the LG's... But if it's between Kooks and LG I'd say go with the LG's

Same set up on my car. Car sounds like a race car.

Our TPIS headers have been tested against the LG long tubes by a GM engineer and we out performed the LG's by 7 to 10 hp. I have made over 660 hp NA on our dyno on pump 93 octane with our header. Our's header was the first on the market for the C5. You will find that a 1 3/4 header with the proper collector and h-pipe will outperform a 1 7/8 set every time.
