Default Got some c4 questions.

Well i have the opportunity to buy a 93 white on red auto vette for the RIGHT price. My question is since ive already had a 98 and know how terrible of a 1/4mile car they are but it can be done, how good are the c4's? The local track does alot of no times night to stay off the track and thats what i am planning on building a car for. mid 11's will do, my question is would a built 4l60e tranny w/a decent stall, lt4 ported heads mass air conversion, bigger cam than the lt4 hot cam,3.90 rear and full exhaust do mid 11's on a bigger drag radial. I would plan on putting black powder coated zr1's so tire size isnt really an issue. I know these 93's arent mass air but i can get used parts for nothing off any year vette.

Thanks
Tom

yes. You could do mid 11's.

I think C4's are great cars BUT,..it would cost MORE money, in these days, to modify an LT1 enginewise. SInce, obviously, there no longer in production. Yes, there are ALOT of parts, and you can do anything, it just won't get as good of a response as the LS1 would, cost per dollar, per horsepower.

Great cars again. LT4 setup is the ticket. Just remember, when you do the LT4 heads, you gotta do the intake manifold as well.

Do the mods you listed,..and a wet shot, and you COULD go tens.

Best wishes,...J

i agree - BUT it all depends on what the RIGHT price is.
more often than not, the "right" price isn't going to be the "right" price after modifications and time are performed, unless someone is pratically giving the car away.
i almost "stole" mine - paid $4000 for my '92 with a bad transmission so i'm into the car for right around $6K!

Not bad at all. Good price, for a good car. At that price, i'd spray the **** out of it.

Have fun.

no spray in the LT1 - it has too many miles!
now - the LS2 - as soon as i learn to drive it the way it sits, then we'll talk spray!

well the one im lookin at has in the 40k range perfect condition for around 8ish maybe a lil lower. But yeah i wana do low 11's on motor i dont care if i have to squat that **** in the rear to get it too hook but i may just fix it up add some stuff to it and turn around next year and try to get 12k for it. Seems like a decent investment considering i was looking at F-bodys which have NO resale value.

i have never known a car to be an investment (unless you buy at barrett jackson - or do frame off restos' yourself)
so looking at a car as an investment is ALWAYS a bad idea.
if you are planning on buying, i suggest planning on driving, or save your investment for a more sound investment

well that car was a bust but looking at a few 94's and 95's. These cars can be an investment. if you watch the c4 market at all it is slowly growing. I have freinds in the corvette business and if you can buy a decent c4 for a good low price i could realistically drive it for a year and turn around sell it for a lil bit more than what i bought it for even stock. Thats why i was looking at it like an investment. Watch the c4 market the prices are really interesting to watch right now.
