Default C5 Z06 question

What do these put down stock and what are there average time slips with a decent driver. My buddie is looking to get one and I was just curious, will I have any problems with my TA putting down 382 to the wheels with the Z06...thanks!!

A stock 02 or newer should be around 350 RWHP plus or minus, but remember they only weigh about 3,100 lbs. They have a 3.42 gear.
Quarter mile times are all over depending on driver, altitude, air, track prep. People here (Kansas City) have trouble getting into the 12's on street tires. track prep sucks. Some people have gone mid to low 12's on street tires elsewhere as I remember.

01's had 385 at the crank instead of 405 for 02-04s.

If you invite him to a road course be prepared to watch his tail lights dissapear.

a bunch of guys including myself has touched 11's totally stock...ranger, j-rod, mr. jim to name a few...the current stock record is 11.7xxx at 117.xx just a matter of learning to drive the car...my best is a 11.91 at 116.4...obviously track conditions need to be optimal..55 degrees and good track prep...

As far as a race with your TA goes, it should be close (with a good driver) only because you weigh a good deal more.

so the 01's make less power? Why is that...so the 01 will only have say 330ish at the wheels or what?

The '01 Z06 came with I think 385 hp and the '02 up went to 405 hp.

There are quite a few differences between 2001 vs 2002+ Z06's. To answer your original question.. No, you will not beat a Z with your current combo unless your friend can't drive. Thats JMO. Maybe you pull 1.6 60's and will rape him. I just sold my 385 rwhp F-bod so we basicaly had the same car. If or when he gets it let us know how it turns out

Tell your buddy to definitely get one, he'll luuuvvvv it! just have him do some research if he buys an 01, make sure it's had the ring problem fixed (if it ever had a ring problem). Reason being is that many of the 01's had a pretty major oil consumption problem...

My friend's 01' Z06 ran 12.7's bone stock and put down over 345rwhp. The graph went dead once it got into the upper rpm's. The car ran great, but had a lot of oil blowing by the rings.

Don't count on the '01s putting down much less power. Mine dynoed 350rwhp stock and I've read about lots of others...

01s dont dyno all that much less than the 02's....sometimes as little as 10 rwhp difference.....typically they are 1-2 mph slower in the 1320, assuming equal driver.
