Timing chain

when does the timing chain have to be serviced or replaced in a c5? ive got a 2000 w/58k on it.

You shouldnt have to worry about it on a stock car AT ALL. I say that knowing I broke one at 47k last week, but my car is not stock, and I wont worry about it happening again.....VERY RARE

my car has the gm hotcam and air intake in it. doesnt matter?

When I pulled my head and cam motor apart in my old Z28 the chain was still perfect. That was at 121000 hard miles.
