Default Nervous about Spraying N2O

I have a Mild Bolt On 2002 C5 ( Intake, LT Headers, Catback, Clutch)
I'm wanting more power but am on a Budget of $2K. I'm thinking about Spraying as well as tuning it for Spray but I'm nervous. I still have 3 1/2 years of payments on this thing and I cant afford to blow up my engine.

You guys who run spray, can you give me some advice on a great kit as well as "Accessories" to go with it to make it as safe as possible to the engine.

My car had an intake when I sprayed. Get a WET KIT (I don't care what other people use, have had success with or whatever). Get a pressure gauge, bottle warmer, and WOT switch. If you can get a MAF kit, it's cleaner and less of a hassel than the shark nozzle. Slap that baby on and have fun. 150 shot is about what the accepted "limit" of the stock timing tune is. I know people have pushed farther but, *shrug*.

If you are that paranoid about hurting the motor just spray a 100 shot until you get more comfortable. I personally slapped on a 150 shot and went to town. You will be just fine.

Also, there are a many more on the board who can give you better advice than I can.

I think you covered it all.

Like the man said, if your nervous, spray the hundred shot. It'll be the best bang for the buck,...and it's just enough power to put you in a whole different class of cars. Plus, your gonna pick up some sexy torque numbers...

One more step, i'd take, with the addition to what holymofo said, i'd go for a window switch. It's an RPM activated switch, that allows the nitrous to come on, or shut off at your DESIRED or chosen RPM.

Soo, for example, if you missed a gear(guessing your car is a 6 speed)(and if you have an automatic, i've seen those miss gears too, or have a delayed shift)...and over rev the motor, you'll just be over reving it on motor,..which is NEVER good but,....it wouldn't spraying bnitrous at the same time, since the window switch has already cut power to the solenoid.

Make sense? or did I ramble too much.

Guage, warmer( www.860performance.com ),windowswitch(or RPM activated switch) and a couple of different JET sizes.

MORE IMPORTANTLY,....DON'T RUN AN PRESCIOUS METAL SPRAK PLUGS, NO PLATINUM CRAP.

NGK TR6 is pretty good.

BWAHAHAH HolyMofo, haahhahahaha.

I forgot about a window switch DOH. Also, instead of a window switch you could get a Timing Tuner, has all the functions of a window switch but in case you get a big cam with a tune you can control your timing, since with a cam and a tune you will probably have too much total timing to run a 100-150shot of nitrous *SAFELY*. Only reason I mention this is to put you at a better peace of mind.

Oh and NGK TR6's, better stock up on them.

For $2k you can get a reliable, fast, and most of all SAFE set up. Talk with Dave at www.nitrousoutlet.com, he's a GREAT guy to work with and he'll take you step by step through anything you need.

My suggestion would be:

Wet kit - 499.99
GEN-X 2 - 387.00
Window Switch - 95.00
NGK TR-6 plugs - 16.00
Tune - 300

And you still have money left over for other things... like bottle refils!

I'm going dry this time just because on my wet application, the fuel solenoid developed a swolen piston and I got lucky not to blow the engine. To do it right, add an air fuel gauge for around $400+.
