I am 19 and am looking to get my first Corvette this spring. Probably just gonna look for a 2000 or so, something that wont cost to much, so i still can mod it up. I will purchase it on my own, I have a 2005 2500HD right now, and will keep it as a winter beater.

The only reason i can get one is because I am a partner in a car lot with my dad, which mostly means it is my car lot, only reason he is in it is because it is on his property, and i am in college right now and he is there everyday because of our other 2 businesses.

My original goal was to have one by 25, but 19 is good.

What should my first mod be???? Any suggestions

Also I just talked to my dad and it sure sounds like a 2006 Z06 might be sitting in the garage this year I am So Fricken Pumped.

I bought my 99 C5 when I was 22 and my 2001 Z06 when I was 25.

I'm 26 now... and hell yes I drive it like it was supposed to be driven!

Edit: I made about 30 passes with my '99 and have autocrossed about 15 times between the two.

I hope more people drive there cars at speed, at the track(s) or whatever.

It would be a real shame to waste such a sweet car.

I was 21 when I bought my first vette C3 ('74 model)
Then I was 24 when I bought my first new vette C4 ('94 model)
I was 32 when I bought my first C5 ('00 coupe)
And I was 35 when I bought my first Z06 ('02 Z06 - current car)

With insurance rates the way they are today, I don't see how the younger people can afford any sports car, much less a vette. But to those who are able to...

the only way i was able to afford my z06 @ 18 is because I still live at home while going to college. I also got insanely lucky at 14 and got a good paying job for my age...but then again I have worked 40 hours a week since i was 14......
doesnt help that I just paid off my 99 402 camaro!!!! FINALLY!!!!

Wow black you got a pretty sweet garage. Im having a bit of a dilema. I have wanted an SS since I can remember. It has alot of sentimental value. I am thinking though that when I graduate I might buy an 01 or 02 Z06. I just dont know if I have the heart to sell my SS. Oh the decisions!!

Got my first '69 Z28 at 17. Paid $900 for it but had to rebuild the engine. It's still my favorite muscle car. I am 48 now and driving a 98 C5 coupe with several mods. And yes, I do have some gray hair now, but at least I still have hair and love to drive the Vette!

nokeman, I love my Camaro like no other and I will never sell it. Now dont get me wrong, the z06 is a very nice car, I have no complaints with it! But Im 100% positive I would sell the vette before I would sell the Camaro. Probably bc I dont feel quite as bad hacking into a Camaro as I do the vette. Im just a bigger fbody fan than ybody, just my opinion.

Finishing up, 4 point cage install to go with my sparco evo seat.
